No, the cat does not look worse

Rule number one with cranky old cats: Don't wake them up at face level.

The cat hissed. Sprout yelled out in surprise, but it was poor little Wild Thing who needed the rescue remedy. He was SO upset that the cat would hurt his baby!

NO TUNA FOR YOU LUNA!
I'm trying to tame my own mama lion response because I kinda understand...I expect this is what she saw....

This is SO hard - we have a similar situation with one of our dogs. Anyone want a 9 y.o. lab-pointer cross? We'll pay the airfare...seriously.

Keep an eye on the Sprout's scratches. Cats have a lot more germs in their claws than most critters.

I have had 'cat scratch fever' and it is bad...the doctor was set to hospitalize me and get me on IV immediately. I have heard of so many people with celulitis this year...take care

Mine never scratches, but he bites the hell out of us. Stupid cats don't know when they have it good.

I felt so bad the time my Munchkin, a few weeks ago (now approaching 11 months) sneaked up on the cat. There was one little, but very bloody rip in her cheek and one very faint scratch and I felt so guilty for not being able to stop it. I kept swabbing it with breastmilk and it never got infected. I wanted to be mad at Pearl, but I know that those baby fists grab hair and pull HARD.
